Resurrection a Cosmic Event
We are in the middle of what we call “Holy Week.” Sunday is Easter, Resurrection Sunday.
I hope that in the next few days you will read the gospel accounts of Jesus’ passion, crucifixion and resurrection: Matthew 26-28, Mark 14-16, Luke 22-24, and John 17-21.
Can you imagine what it was like to see Jesus crucified, to witness that agonizing death, and then to experience the incredible invasion of the supernatural that was his resurrection?
It was a local event, occurring in an identifiable place, but far more than that—a cosmic one.
The Bible does not tell us that Jesus’ triumphant laughter echoed across the galaxies—but I think perhaps it did.
In this holy season, may you share in his joy!
Resurrection a Cosmic Event

EASTER LAUGHTER
Satan laughed
as they lowered the body
from the cross.
His rasping chortle
dogged every footstep to the tomb;
his mocking stabbed at every tear.
He laughed
from Friday to Sunday,
his glee unconstrained—
But then the earth shook;
the grave clothes lay empty,
the stone rolled back.
The crucified one stepped forth
in flesh that could not see death again,
And Jesus laughed,
His mouth wide,
head flung back.
His joy pealed across the universe,
echoing from galaxy to galaxy—
wholesome, pure, triumphant—
the pain endured,
the battle finished,
His delight now unconstrained.
The risen Lord laughed,
He laughs,
and Satan weeps.
